I've seen one USENET review in favor of this movie and one against it, so I am motivated to swing the tide to the positive side by submitting my review. I thought it was delightful and stimulating. Andre is a consummate story- teller. He is a much more fascinating and articulate conversationalist than any of us is likely to know. His dinner companion is less fascinating, but he too had his fine moments in the film, and he acts as a perfect foil to Andre's tales of exotic adventures. The movie is so absorbing and realistic that afterward I felt as if I'd been out to dinner. Dinner with Andre is one of the best films I've seen this year, and the most unique one. I recommend it enthusiastically.
