You can also do fun things with extra memory, like "multi-tasking." This permits you to run multiple applications at the same time on your system. One thing I expect to do when I start multi-tasking is update a spreadsheet in one window while I am reading files to get data from another system. I may also add compiles at the same time. This capability usually requires a 386 (or 486) plus 2mb or more of memory (plus the software that multi-tasks: Unix, Microsoft Windows, Quarterdeck). sk
