I am attempting to find a screendump utility for MD-DOS that will work with a variety of printers and/or system configurations. It must be flexible, and need not have bells and whistles; a simple package will be acceptable and preferred. Also preferred would be a shareware package with source, but a suggestions for a commercial package will also be welcome. Any ideas? thanks, mike houwers

Last October PC Resource mag had a screendump TSR (mixed C/ASM) that handled all the standard video modes, text or graphics from CGA to VGA (i.e. it checked what mode it was in, sent the proper set-up codes to the printer, then translated the video memory contents into appropriate data to make the printer produce a reasonable facsimile of the screen). Of course, it only handled IBM-standard printers (I had to modify it to make it drive my Radio Scrap ink-jet), but presumably some sort of pop-up menu to select printer type could be added? -- +===========================================================================+ | Steve Watson Disclaimer: Blame me, not the Company I keep... | | UseNet: watson@Software.Mitel.COM UUCP: mitel!spock!watson@uunet.uu.net | +===========================================================================+
