Would someone be able to provide me with a brief list of conflicts/ bugs that may occur when running Microsoft Windows 3.0 under MS-DOS 4.01 ? I recall seeing mention of some conflicts but I don't recall what they were. I am running Windows 3.0 on a Compudyne 25mhz 386 and strange things occur with the serial ports when trying to use the modem. All port addresses, IRQ's, baud rates etc.,etc. have bee set up correctly. It just seems that when I use Terminal to run the modem (a High Fidelity 2400 baud) in com3, Windows freaks out and says that com3 is being used by a DOS application, when I know it is not. In addition, Windows won't even let me use the other com ports (com 1 & 2). My setup at home on an AT (286) works fine under DOS 3.3. I just don't get it. Any input from you pros is greatly welcomed. Thanks. Email or post---whatever :) Ciao, chrisg@olivej
