I need a little help choosing or creating the right PRD file so that I can access my four standard fonts (internal to the hpIII) and use them in word 5.0 documents. Page 3-7 of the _Laserjet III Printer Software Application Notes_ booklet (from hp) says that I should use the HPLASER.PRD file. These are the fonts I can choose from under Print Options (having selected hplaser as my prd): FONT Point Sizes Listed ---- ------------------ Courier (modern a) 12, 10 Courier pc (modern b) 12, 10 Lineprinter (modern h) 8.5 Lineprinter pc (modern g) 8.5 The laser jet III comes with the following fonts (as per p. 1-4 of the HP Laserjet III users manual): FONT Point Sizes Available ---- --------------------- CG Times 8 proportional scalable typefaces Univers " " " " Courier 14 fixed-pitch bitmapped fonts Line Printer " " " " How do I get the scalable fonts (can word 5 even use them?). Why do I have so few font size choices for courier and lineprinter when I'm supposed to have 14 each? Do I need to call Microsoft and get some drivers? One related question. I'm getting ready to buy a font cartridge, maybe one that does postscript (possible? the world of fonts, bitmapping, vectors, image scanning, dpi, etc. is a quagmire of information!) for my hpIII. Any suggestions? Much thanks in advance, dan \\\\\\\///////\\\\\\\///////\\\\\\\///////\\\\\\\///////\\\\\\\///////\\\\\ <>< "Surrender the hunger to say you must know, | <>< Have the courage to say I believe, ==+== <>< For the power of paradox opens your eyes, | <>< And blinds those who say they can see." -- Michael Card |
