#N:uiuceml:23200007:000:199 uiuceml!david Aug 16 14:19:00 1983 Have recently seen the movie CLASS and found it to be so repugnant to my sensibilities that I am motivated to write to ORION Pictures. It was sad to CLIFF and JACQULINE in this film. Anyone agree?

I was not nearly as offended by Class as the previous reviewer. The first half-hour or so of the film struck me as rather funny. The scenes in which the prep-school students are playing pranks on each other worked quite well. In fact I thought this movie had quite alot of potential, some of which was capitalized on with genuinely humorous scenes and lines. They only needed to drop the needless subplot with Bisset to whack this pup into halfway decent shape. As it was released it seems as if it's two, two, two films in one. One (the comedy) works, the other (Bisset) does not. ... uw-june!eli

#R:uiuceml:23200007:hplabs:8000001:000:362 hplabs!dembry Aug 18 17:04:00 1983 I agree with your analysis of CLASSless. The first third of the movie makes males ( boys? ) look stupid and the last third propogates the idea that males ( again boys? ) always fight when they run against something they don't like. In fact the only good part of the movie is the middle third. I went to see it because I thought it might be a comedy. Oh well.
