I have an old IBM-PC (8086) with 640K and hard drive that is on the ethernet and that has been assigned an internet node by the local domain. Is there a software package that can be used to receive and send mail directly from my PC? I know about UUPC, but what I am looking for is something that can utilize my placement on internet and etherlink to avoid having to dial-up to a server. If anyone knows of such a beast, please let me know, either posted here, or via email. As I am a grad student, shareware/public domain is best. Also does anyone know of software that allows telnets from a remote site to access a PC at the MSDOS level (not just ftp)?
