[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Dictionaries on IBM

ksun@jarthur.claremont.edu (Kang Sun) (04/07/91)

Hi, a friend of mine is looking for computerized dictionaries. He's looking
for English to English dictionary, English to Spanish and Spanish to English
dictionaries. He heard there are English dictioanries on CD-ROM but he's
not sure about that. It might've been a rumor.

No, he's not looking for a dictionary that'll be compatible with a
spellchecker (i.e. MS word, Word Perfect, etc.) It'll be nice if they're
compatible also but it's not necessary. However, it's necessary for him to
use the dictionary without any word processing programs as a requirement (as
a speller checker in a word processing program)

Any help would be appreciated. Price lists, sources, etc. are all fine.

Thanks!

P.S. please e-mail the responses. I can't keep up with the messages
everyday. As a result, I usually don't have the time to read these two
newsgroups although I subscribe to them. Sorry if someone asked about this
already but as I said, I didn't have the time to scan the titles (over 500
mesages!)

Thanks again

Along the same line, I'm looking for a good French-English dictionary
on disk. Anyone know of one? Thanks.
