Are all BIOS's on the PC limited to 2 hard disks? I have 2 MFM hard disks as drives c: and d:. When I added in a Seagate ST01 SCSI controller, my (AT-clone) won't boot up but gives a disk controller error message. But if I go into the firmware setup and delete drive d:, then it boots up and recognizes the ST01 and its SCSI disks but I cannot access my old drive d:. Is this a BIOS limitation? Is there a way to get around it? Thanks in advance. D. C. Kwong att!mink!dck

The problem is that DOS will only support 2 physical hard disks. You would need to use a software driver to support the third disk. In the case of an Adaptec SCSI controller you use their ASPI2DOS driver.
