I was able to format my 6085 with rll, but reformatting the same drive right away again generally produced different bad blocks. Also, i kept losing blocks that i couldn't map out whilst running unix, which is "not a good thing." I finally gave up with rll on the drive. I never was sure whether it was the hardware (i.e., the drive) or the software (i.e., esix 5.3.2-d) since esix specifically disclaimed support for rll drives.
