[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Question about mixed memory speeds in a 386

greg@suntan.viewlogic.com (Gregory Larkin) (05/10/91)

Hello,

My dad has a 16mhz 386sx with 2 1Meg SIMMs in it for memory.

He would like to upgrade the memory to 4 Meg total, so he
wants to buy 2 more meg. The existing SIMMs have 80ns access
times. He would like to buy 100ns SIMMs and put them in with
the 80ns SIMMs. Will this present a problem to the computer?

Thanks for any advice,
