I saw Risky Business last week, and enjoyed it thoroughly. It is definitely *not* any relation to Vacation, which I did not like very much (mostly for the same reasons that laura[mind if i call you laura?] mentioned). Acting: good to very good. all characters seemed to have "real" emotions. No over( or under)acting. Cinematography: very good. lots of little touches that were unnecessary but gave something to the film. Neat effect during the train scene. Story: interesting story that I found particularly close to home (will Joel's responsibilities *ALL* come crashing down on him at once, leaving him a hopeless shell of a man?). at the same time, it contained enough humour to keep me smiling most of the way through. Plot: believable. at times it stretched my limits of belief a little, but I never stopped believing. note that I do not mean that anything like this could really happen, but its just a movie, remember? i found this movie quite suspenseful, without alot of violence and gore. Favorite scene: Joel pulling out of the garage for the first time. Overall:Some peple may be offended by the sex scenes. I found them tastefully done. Definitely worth seeing for $4, which means I won't feel bad about seeing it for $1 again. Shane ucbvax!sdcsvax!sdccsu3!zz1sm

I also liked Risky Business, though I found it less hilarious than I was expecting from reviews over the net. It is also more serious than I was expecting, in the sense that it actually propounds a [philosophy of / way of / attitude towards / ???] life with some insistence. However, I beg to disagree in one point: The plot (at least some of it) is certainly not believable. I also didn't like Guido (the bad guy) coming out so well. I think $4 is OK for the film, but not the 2*$4.50 I had to pay... --Silvio Levy
