[comp.sys.ibm.pc] SOTA Express/386

dchun@aludra.usc.edu (Dale Chun) (06/05/91)

Has anyone had any experience with the SOTA (State of the Art
Technology) Express 386SX/16 board? It claims to be a replacement (eg.
uses no slots) for any 286 processor and will give 386SX/16 power and
speed. Is this true? Would this thing work on a Compaq 286e/12 and/or
a Leading Edge Model D2? If so, what type of experience (good/bad) and
compatibility problems (hardware/software) have you had. How much did
you pay for this thing? Where did you purchase this replacement
processor? Is $359.95 a reasonable amount to pay for this thing?

Thanks for any information. I will summarize if there is enough
interest on this thing (or whatever you call it).
