I am involved in a simulation/prototyping project in which it would be very desirable to track the movement of several aircraft using the Microsoft Flight Simulator. It would be equally useful to be able to supply scenery data derived from existing terrain data to these simulators in the form of scenery files. Does anyone on the net know the communications protocol used between two copies of the Microsoft Flight Simulator? I am aware of the Tracon II game/ simulator which already speaks this protocol; it's not sufficient for our needs. Similarly, does anyone have the file format used in scenery disks? We would also like to correct some errors in VOR positions and frequencies on several existing disks. Again, the Aircraft/scenery designer program is insufficient for our needs. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. I'll summarize any responses I receive to the net--will also email detailed responses to anyone who'd like them. -- Phil Wherry Member of the Technical Staff MITRE Corporation, McLean, VA psw@mitre.org (703)-883-6694
