<Another line eater bites the dust...> I recently purchased a AT&T PC 6300 PLUS, mainly for Unix usage. I bought the system with 1Mbyte of memory and 20Mbyte of hard-disk storage. Well, as much storage as I thought this was, it only seems smaller as the days go on. After buying the developers tools, I find myself with only about 5Mbytes of hard-disk. It's time to expand, but I need some answers and am hoping some of you out there know more than I do. What brand of memory boards are compatible with the 6300+? I know AT&T would probably gouge me, so if there's a cheaper alternative, I'd be more inclinded to go in that direction. What is the best choice for a larger primary hard disk? I'd like to go up to 40Mbytes, and if possible, use the 20Mbyte drive I have as an external hard-drive (if that is possible using System V Unix as distributed). Lastly, I need another RS232 port. The on-board one is dedicated to a modem for dial-out/in and UUCP traffic. I'd like to use the second port for a terminal (both as a Unix terminal and a Microsoft Windows debugging terminal [under Simultask MSDOS]). Is there a RS232 board I can buy that is compatible with the 6300+ and Unix (I only see a /dev/tty and /dev/tty1 on my Unix distribution)? The 6300+ Unix manuals don't say anything about such a capability, but MSDOS can certainly use 2 or more COM ports. Again, any help is appreciated. If there enough interested people, I can post a summary of responses. Thanks again, Stan Dolson ..!tektronix!reed!percival!bucket!stand Rick's Home Grown Unix - We Make 'Em The Old-Fashioned Way ...
