I've been considering installing an EGA card in one of our AT&T 6300s that is an older model with the P4 video adapter and ROM bios version 1.21. Could anybody in netland tell me if switching to ROM BIOS version 1.43 is enough, or will I have to remove and jumper the 74LS00 as well, as has been alluded to in previous net articles? I have an STB Chauffer EGA so called "multires" board that cliams that it can coexist with other video adapters. It also claims that it can live with my Taxan 640, so I don't have to chuck the monitor. I'd appreciate it if somebody could post &/or mail me the specifics of the method for disabling the P4 video.
