[I'm posting this again because I think the first one failed] I'm considering the purchase of a UNIX PC 7300, but would like to get a few questions answered first. Please--mail to me directly. If you want this info too, send me mail and I'll either post a summary on comp.sys.att, or just mail summaries to those interested parties. Questions: 1. It sounds like the 7300 comes with a 20M HD. True? It also sounds like it's relatively easy to upgrade to a larger HD. 2. How much RAM does it come with, and how much can it be expanded to (with and without add-on boards)? What memory management scheme does the supplied UNIX use? Virtual memory? 3. Does the display support ANSI standard escape sequences? Does it emulate a VT100 for example? 4. How many ports does it have, communications, printer, ethernet, what? How expandable is it? 5. Does the UNIX provided with it also have the Berkeley extensions, such as csh? 6. Do you know if gnu-emacs, franz lisp, and C-prolog will run on it? 7. Do you like it? Is it reliable? Was it easy to get up and running? Is there adequate support? Thanks for the info -b ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brant Cheikes University of Pennsylvania ARPA: brant@linc.cis.upenn.edu Computer and Information Science =============================================================================
