Hello Net People:
I have noticed that many people would like to increase
the size of their AT&T PC7300. I came across this information
in the "Team Alloy News". I have never used or seen the two fol-
lowing products. Since I have never used them I can not vouch for
them. I only give the information for your use. I have never
dealt with the company "Alloy" before, nor have I ever used their
products.
The information is dated August 1985:
"...Alloy now announces its first AT&T UNIX PC products:
RAM-73 a 2.0 megabyte RAM expansion board designed to operate in
any of the UNIX PC expansion slots; and microSTOR-73 a hard disk
and tape drive with optional DES security capability...
...Alloy's RAM-73 card offers ... 2.0 megabytes of expan-
sion memory - the maximum amount of expansion memory allowable
with the UNIX PC Model 7300. By providing full RAM expansion in
one card, RAM-73 leaves two expansion slots free to be used for
other system enhancements. RAM-73 is available now, at a retail
price of $1495."
Remember the article was dated August 1985!
"Alloy's ... microSTOR-73 offers more hard disk space -
20MB, 40MB, or 115MB - and a micro-cartridge tape drive for data
backup. The tape drive use DC100 cartridges that store 23 mega-
bytes, and is available with the 20 and 40 megabyte hard disk
drives...
microSTOR-73 prices start at $3295 for the 20 megabyte
hard disk and tape drive."
Again, I want to stress I HAVE NEVER DEALT WITH ALLOY!!
I DO NOT KNOW IF THEIR PRODUCTS ARE ANY GOOD!!!
I hope this helped,
