We are considering installing an AT&T 3B2/400 as the central system for a classroom to be used to teach law office computer skills, along with a network of AT&T PC's connected by Starlan. Most of the applications taught would be PC-based, but some would require UNIX and would run directly on the 3B2. We would also be looking at future use of the 3B2 (after it finishes its term in the classroom to handle database (Empress) applications, with up to 10 people doing simultaneous data entry or retrieval (not full-screen) plus another 10 using email or ed. I'd be interested in people's experiences with the 3B2/400, including a description of the typical load it handles and how well it does so. Since our discussions with AT&T Canada see them possibly donating much of the equipment, I'm interested in knowing what the 3B2/400 (and PC's, for that matter) can do rather than whether some other manufacturer's equipment can do it a bit better.
