I would like to confirm the prices originally posted by Darryl (710@unisec.usi.com). I have just placed an order with Avnet (*) for a 3B1 w/67MB disk and 2MB RAM. The cost for that configuration is $1631.00 plus $244.00 for the software. There is also a sort of $100 rebate. As I understand it from Avnet, once the sale is over the prices will likely go up. This will be my second system. In my experience it has been an exceptionally reliable system. Brant Cheikes posted a request for info on this machine a while back and collected a number of responses from owners. I would be happy to send my copy of these responses to anyone interested. Yes, there is a special unix-pc distribution within USENET -- I am currently making an updated list of the sites participating in it and will post that list to comp.sys.att by June 15. All one needs to do is find an existing unix-pc site to give you a feed. There are currently four newsgroups: unix-pc.general unix-pc.sources unix-pc.test unix-pc.uucp Feel free to send me a mail message if you would like more info on this. -dave ...!ptsfa!safari!dave ...!ihnp4!safari!dave (*) the person I spoke with at Avnet was: John Hilton 1-617-935-4680 (Waburn, Mass.)
