We are looking at buying an AT&T 7300 (3B1), and are hesitating because AT&T told us they are not supporting the latest version of DOS. Question: is anyone out there using the DOS option, and what problems or solutions have you come up with?

The DOS-73 board is quite a nice product. It uses MS-DOS 3.1 which, as you say, is not the latest and greatest release but works fine for my purposes. The main thing to keep in mind is that the display emulates a Hercules graphics card, and that in a number of ways the system is not an exact IBM clone. I have run quite a variety software: compilers, spreadsheets, editors, utilities, etc. and most have run without trouble. I particularly like how easy it is to read and write DOS floppies. But if you have any DOS applications you absolutely MUST be able run, I would recommend trying them out before you buy. P.S. Although I work for AT&T, my only connection with the DOS-73 board is as a satisfied user. -- Peter Fales UUCP: ...ihnp4!ihlpe!psfales work: (312) 979-7784 AT&T Information Systems, IW 1Z-243 1100 E.
