[comp.sys.att] xbbs

Has anyone gotten the xenix BBS program called XBBS compiled on the
7300? The program was orginally working on a xenix system. When I
have tried to compile it, I get a lot of problems with cant
include sys/locking. There are a number of referance to the file locking
call all though the program, so before I go trying to figure out replacements
or fixes, has anyone got it to work?

I know unaxcess will work on a 3B1, in fact I have it up, but would like
to run xbbs. xbbs has more of a "fido" look and a little more user friendly
and I think the new version has sealink working.

I am running two BBS systems, one UNaXcess based on a 7300, the other
XBBS on a 386. I have just about decided to move UNaXcess to the Xenix
system, since XBBS uses a *lot* of Xenix speciffic locking features (and
is better for it). I don't think it's impossible to make XBBS run
elsewhere, but it will be a lot of work.

While I'm speaking of BBS problems, I have a problem that hangs lines
when a process tries to terminate. It results in a zombie process and
hung line. I was told that it was fixed in 3.0 (it wasn't) and 3.5 (it
isn't). Now people tell me it's fixed in 3.51. Before I invest any more
in it, can someone tell me if there's a reason to believe the story this
time?
