[net.music] Genesis

I heard that genesis has came out with a new album.
( Did Phil finally let Chester play on an album yet ?).
	How is it ?

Genesis is also coming to Chicago Nov. 11, 1983 (Rosemont actually).
Did anyone see their current show they are touring with ?
Who is playing guitar ?

Last time I saw them, they did alot of older material and not much
off of abacab, t.t.w.3, dukes, etc. I heard they were practicing for
the Gabriel thing they did in England for that tour ( is this true ?).

		Thanks in advance

P.S. Anybody interested in comparing what songs they do from different
places (just curious to see if they vary their shows) ?

I don't know why genesis keeps going back there.

Right On! I will firmly agree with you on the quality of Genesis
while Gabriel was with the group. I love the albums from that time
period, with faves going of course to Lamb Lies Down On Broadway.
I'll listen five times more to Genesis from this period than any other
Prograssive/Psychadelic Band (for arguements sake, yes, I will include
Yes, King Crimson, ELP, et al in this grouping).

No way, in regards to the steadily declining trash that Genesis has
put out since Gabriel left. I owned every album, up to the point of
the last album. I just could not bring myself to do it.

The band has gone too far from their roots that I fell in love with.
I am tired of Collin's style of drumming. I barf if I hear more than
three notes of "Illegal ALien" as a purely subconcious action. It is
my opinion that I will never see Genesis again, no matter how much the
old love is there, the vile in my mouth keeps me away.

Let's talk music.....

P.S. This is not meant to reflect in any means upon Peter Gabriel,
who I feel is the greatest current male singer in "rock" music.
