This is being posted from john@ssbn.UUCP, please reply there, the From is wrong... it should read john@ssbn.UUCP (John Butler) I've been reading everyones comments on the ability to gain access to the unix shell by non expert user's. I've had similar problems through user errors to cause them to be thrown into the unix shell, but am lucky enough that non of them know what they're doing. please post this if you can, this is for those people using MicroSoft Word and possibly any other word processors. All that is needed for this accident is MicroSoft Word, and perhaps any word processor, and one fumbling operator. Use MicroSodt Word, MW, to edit or start a new piece of word processing. Simply press the Rstrt/ Ref key, the second key from the left on the top row. This is the first key to the right of the F1 key. Presto you are now at the pound promt. Notice: this is not the $ that you get if you are not supperuser. You'll also get a notice of 'break out' and can access virtually any file in the system. If anyone has any safegaurds on this process, please lend a hand. Thanks John Butler ssbn!john
