[comp.sys.att] Unix PC: I would like to have to following stuff...

wtm@neoucom.UUCP (Bill Mayhew) (11/05/87)

First off, could somebody be kind enough to post (or mail me) the
fone number for the STORE? I lost the news article with the
number. Curiously, when I called the hotline, the person knew of
the existance of the STORE, but couldn't come up with the number
for it. AAAAArrrgh!

Next, should usr/bin/mailx be on the Unix PC. It is there on the
6300 Plus! The droid on the hotline pretended he dindn't know what
mailx is. Good grief. Is mailx available at the STORE?

And now, has anybody out there gotten a modem to work properly on
the serial (tty000) port? I don't mind if it has to be dial-out only.
I have a Telebit trailblazer 9600 bps modem that I'd love to use.
I can talk to it via cu, so I know that at least the hardware
aspects of the cabling, etc are ok. When I "uucico -r1 -x9 -sneoucom"
to it, for instance, I see:

send them ^M
sent
expect ^M
got:
modem timed out

I see the modem echo the return. It seems that ioctl isn't being
correctly applied to the port, and thus it isn't seeing the
response from the modem. By the way, this was using the hayes
modemcap. This also knonks out with a real hayes modem attached.
The phone-droid at the hot line pretended to be baffled and had no
suggestions other than to stick with the internal modem.

Last of all, Is Honey DanBer uucp available (from the STORE or
whatever). If so, what is the $$$?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Bill
