Is there printing after Honey DanBer? I am trying to help a fellow get a
serial printer working again after installing HDB uucp. HDB works just
fine but the printer has stopped. That printer, cable, and port (tty002)
worked fine before he installed HDB but now every attempt to spool to that
port fails, "Can't open device". The printer is an Epson, 9600bps, XON/XOFF
and works with anything but his 7300 printer spooler. We have installed
the printer with HDB, from RS-232 in The Office and manually using lpadmin,
the results are identical. The open failure usually means lack of DCD or
somesuch but this setup worked great before HDB. We tried taking out HDB
but the RS-232 install said that it couldn't configure that port so appar-
ently HDB left something laying around.
If someone has successfully installed a serial printer on an EIA/RAM combo
card *AFTER* they brought up HDB could they please send instructions to me
or to john@ssbn.WLK.COM? We sure would appreciate it, this is frustrating!
