Interesting question here about 7300's with DOS boards. Bradley will be receiving about 80 7300's with DOS boards and some with ethernet boards. The problem is, once DOS is loaded onto the DOS board, there isn't enough memory left to run engineering analysis programs (like SPICE) because they require a 512K machine that runs a smaller DOS. The opinion here is that the video memory is also somewhere in that 512K, and that's what the problem is (they always come up about 30K short). Anyway, does anyone know of : 1) A way to get 640K on a 3B1 DOS board ? 2) A DOS that a runs a little more conservatively as far as memory usage but will run on a 7300 ? 3) Any experience as to what will happen when we start running the ethernet software (specifically memory usage on the DOS board). The machines aren't going to do the College of Engineering here much good if they can't run any of their software on them. Any clues ?
