[comp.sys.att] 3.5" diskette as external drive to 6300+ ?

chf@lznv.ATT.COM (Charles Foster) (11/19/87)

Can anyone give me a method of including a 3.5" diskette drive to my
6300+ which already has a 5.25" and a hard disk ? I do not want to
get rid of either the 5.25 or the hard disk, I want to add a 3.5".

If you have AT&T DOS 3.2, Radio Shack apparently makes an external
3.5" drive that has (I presume) a card that goes in a slot. Then
you add a DRIVEPARM line to your config.sys file to declare the
drive. I believe that it is only a 720K drive.

NOTE:

The above in NO WAY reflects the opinions of AT&T.
These opinions are my own and the results of un-scientific and
highly irregular analysis methods.

Try

1) Manzana Microsystems (805) 968-1387
2) Sysgen (800) 821-2151
3) Astro Systems (408) 727-5599

There are others like Tigertronics, etc. I am looking for a way to put
a 1.44 Meg 3-1/2" drive on a 6300 running PC DOS 3.1. Anyone know?
