Does anyone know of or use TCP/IP software for the 7300 which allows the user to perform remote logins and copies, etc. over the serial line? Such software exists for other machines, but I'm not sure if it has been ported or developed commercially for the 7300. The idea is to allow transparent access to ethernet facilities using rlogin, rcp, ftp, telnet via a serial connection from a 7300 to a machine on the ethernet. Any information about such software would be greatly appreciated. Please send e-mail to the address below. Thanks! Paul G. I'm not sure exactly what the hardware/software is called but according to the Parts List the Ethernet Board comcode is 405198854. I would suggest calling your AT&T Accounts Representative for further information on it. |> The idea is to allow transparent access to ethernet facilities |> using rlogin, rcp, ftp, telnet via a serial connection from |> a 7300 to a machine on the ethernet. The KA9Q TCP/IP software developed by Phil Karn runs on many different systems including Unix PCs, Convergent Tech Miniframes, and other Sys V Unix Systems, IBM PCs, Apple Macintoshes, and Commodore Amigas. On Unix, it only supports serial line communications -- no ethernet yet. [It does support 3Com 3C500/501 ethernet boards on IBM PCs.] It can be retrieved via anonymous FTP to louie.udel.edu in the directory /pub/ka9q. It is also available with anonymous UUCP access to site winfree. Mail me if you want further details. ---Bob. -- Bob Hoffman, N3CVL {allegra, bellcore, cadre, idis, psuvax1}!pitt!hoffman Pitt Computer Science hoffman%pitt@relay.cs.net
