I'm looking for a simple database that provides an interface to C. I need this to run on my AT&T 3B1 (SysV UNIX). Anybody who can point me towards such a beast wins my gratitude! :-) Thanks, John Wilkes -- -- @work: -- {decwrl, ames, pyramid, prls}!mips!wilkes -- OR, for those of great faith: -- wilkes@mips.com

You may want to look at the C-Btree software from Peach Tree. They provide source code (C) for AmigaDOS, MS-DOS, and UNIX *ONLY*. Colleagues have informed me it's great; they advertise in COMPUTER LANGUAGE and other "similar" magazines. Send me E-Mail (as a reminder) and I'll look up the specific references for you. I tried to send mail to the initial poster but no-go. Anyway, we have (read that use and sell) a package called Zebu. It puts up real nice screens, stores data in a flat file with a separate index and supports two types of records in a master/slave relationship. It is a good product for mailing lists, order processing, ... Anyway, if you are interested, it is inexpensive and sold as source code. You can get info from: Sandy Webb SSC, Inc. P.O. Box 55549 Seattle, WA 98155 (206) FOR-UNIX or 527-3385 {attmail, uunet!pilchuck}!ssc!san There is also a dial-in demo that includes zebu.
