I just got a little postcard from "Owens-Laing Publications", which is, I guess, the publisher of _3B Journal_. I subscribed to the Journal a while ago, but have received at most 2 issues (and I can only put my hands on one of those). Now they want me to renew. While the $25 isn't going to break me (I'll probably have the job pay for it anyway), I think $12.50 an issue for something that's marginally useful at best is a little steep. I guess my question to the net is "Has anyone been getting issues of this rag? Did they jsut screw up my subscription? Or am I being asked to finance a vapor-mag?" I got one issue this year total.. Paul Owens can kiss my A**. It is a rip off,and run by people who can't even understand basic unix commands.. Most of the articles are reprints of AT&T marketing bulletins. I did subscribe to _3B Journal_ last year, received a total of 2 issues the entire time. I called numerous times and email'd to the attmail address. I received a letter saying that Owens Publications was moving, and they had some problems getting the issues out. They would extend the subscription accordingly. I waited 6 more months and still got nothing. I then sent a formal complaint to the company and a month later received my $25.00 back in the mail. It just seemed I was financing their move, and received nothing. I wouldn't have minded the $5.00 an issue, but there wasn't anything worth reading anyhow (that I couldn't have gotten faster from AT&T or the net). Get your money back fast!
