Beth ------------------------------ From: quirk@hubcap.UUCP (Chris Reynolds) Subject: Request for info on 3b family beyond 3b5 Date: 29 Aug 88 19:29:09 GMT I currently have a 3b2 and am looking into upgrade options. Is the 3b20 the top-of-the-line machine now? What are its capabilities? I would like opinions on the various members of the 3B family beyond the 3b5. Thanks in advance. -- Chris Reynolds uucp: ... !gatech!hubcap!quirk CS Dept, Clemson University domain: quirk@hubcap.clemson.edu phone: (803)656-{2639,3444} ------------------------------ From: paw3c@galen.acc.virginia.edu (Pat Wilson) Subject: _3B Journal_ Date: 30 Aug 88 18:55:17 GMT I just got a little postcard from "Owens-Laing Publications", which is, I guess, the publisher of _3B Journal_. I subscribed to the Journal a while ago, but have received at most 2 issues (and I can only put my hands on one of those). Now they want me to renew. While the $25 isn't going to break me (I'll probably have the job pay for it anyway), I think $12.50 an issue for something that's marginally useful at best is a little steep. I guess my question to the net is "Has anyone been getting issues of this rag? Did they jsut screw up my subscription? Or am I being asked to finance a vapor-mag?" Any thoughts? -- Pat Wilson paw3c@acc.virginia.edu || uunet!virginia!paw3c || paw3c@virginia.BITNET ------------------------------ Subject: Re: 3b Magazine Date: Wed, 31 Aug 88 9:32:48 PDT From: John Berg <berg@pbhyc.pacbell.com> Eric, I've never heard of 3B Journal. Definitely sounds like a vapor-mag. I do get UNIX-World & would recommend it to anyone on the net. John ------------------------------ Subject: Re: 3b20:Top of line? We are currently trying to negotiate a business case to approve the purchase of 2 3B4000s in exchange for 6 3B20s. For more info on the 4000 line, contact Chuck Northrup (AT&T) on 415-830-4409.
