From: hoptoad!quaduk!graham (Graham Glen) Wow, I am impressed by the power of this newsletter, I put in a request for information regarding the National Instruments GPIB-3B2 card, and the next day received a reply direct from National Instruments (and I'm in another continent remember). For those interested, here is what I received: > To: graham@quaduk.uucp > Subject: GPIB for 3b2 > > Mr. Graham Glen > Technical Manager > Quadratron Systems Ltd. > > Dear Mr. Glen: > > I recently received an E-mail message in which you indicated a > problem in acquiring information on the low-level software interface > to the National Instruments GPIB-3B2 interface board. It was about time that it came into existence. There still is an information problem though.. AT&T is very sensitive about disseminating certain types of info. Meanwhile the list grows. There are probably enough votes within the mailing list subscribers to get a 3B2 specific newsgroup created on the net. I am still interested in this, and will periodically stir things up. Some people in Europe are unable to send mail freely but can post within Usenet itself. Have a nice weekend. -- Len Rose - Netsys,Inc. len@ames.arc.nasa.gov or len@netsys.com ------------------------------ Subject: Re: mailx From: netsys!vsi!friedl More mailx info... There is a global .mailrc file in /usr/lib/mailx/mailx.rc that you can stick various options in. We usually change the mailx prompt, set the pager, etc. so everybody gets these by default (the user's personal .mailrc overrides any conflicts). A handy option we use with net.mail is `ignore'. It specifies header lines that should not be normally displayed, and with AT&T mail having *so* much cruft at the top of the message, it cuts down on reading time. This is ours: ignore In-Reply-To ignore Message-Version ignore MTS-Message-ID ignore Ua-Content-ID ignore Transport-Options ignore End-of-Header ignore Email-Version ignore Phone ignore End-of-Protocol ignore Content-Type ignore Content-Length ignore Status Of course, you can salt to taste.
