Does anybody know how to put messages on the front console of the 6386E? Can't seem to find documentation on it but there's bound to be a way to do it from Unix. Alas, the only responses I got asked if I got any answers. I didn't. Sigh. -- Michael Sullivan {uunet|attmail}!vsi!sullivan Posting from: V-Systems, Inc. Santa Ana, CA sullivan@vsi.com Just say to yourself over and over, "President Quayle". I can't do more than 2.

Here's the poop: There will be a 6386E WGS Hardware reference manual coming out "real soon now" and in it are all of the gruesome details on how to program the front panel. I was able to write a little DOS program that allows me to put letters up on the front panel, and another one that changes attributes of the front panel so that it blinks, etc. but what I really want is a unix device driver for the front panel that I can do things like "echo Hi there >/dev/fpanel" to. If anyone can help me on this I would very much appreciate it. Thanks Craig Votava [att!]looney!cmv
