...and the lady was Shirley Maclain (sp?).  Great movie.

The name of the movie was "Being There", and the "pretty lady" was Shirley
MacLaine, not Ann-Margaret.

 What was the name of that movie? 

It was one of Peter Sellers last movies, he was the main character.
He was a gardner in his fifties, who had been locked up in a house in Wash D.C.
since he was a child. His only view of the real world was from his color tv.
Anyway his master dies and he is dumped out on the street. While randomly
walking around D.C. he gets hit by a pretty lady in a limo (Ann Margret 
I think), and she takes him home to a big mansion to have her doctor look
at him. She later falls in love with him, and he becomes the talk
of the town.  If anyone can recall the name of this film I would much
appreciate it. I hate it when you can remember all the plot details of 
a movie but not the !$#&%* title.
