A local department has recently switched from a 3B2-310 to a 400, and "upgraded" from SysV 2.04 to 3.1. The users complain that their dBASE applications are running MUCH slower on the new machine. The sar report indicates that the 400 is totally processor bound while the dBASE apps are running. Disk access does not appear to be a factor. Since the 310 and 400 are basically the same machine, the difference seems to be the OS. Has anyone had a similar problem with 3.1 and dBASE? Alternatively, has anyone tried FoxBASE to solve a similar problem? -- Mick Laver, C-010 Internet: mlaver@ucsd.edu UCSD Academic Computing Center UUCP: ...!ucsd!mlaver La Jolla, CA.92093 BITNET: mlaver@ucsd.BITNET
