I have a 3B1 with 2MB ram on mother board and a 2MB expansion card occupying one of the system expansion slots. I also have an Expansion Unit which had 2 dual eia port boards plugged into the the first two lowest priority slots. Here's the problem ... Recently I purchased a "2 Port No RAM" card from Digital Data Systems. After installing the card in the next empty slot of the Expansion Unit, I tried setting up the additional ports in the "Hardware Setup/RS232 Expansion Setup" screen. The system still only recognized Ports 1 thru 4. There was no choice for New Ports 5 and 6. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the EIA/RAM Combo Expansion Disk but still got the same results. Here are a few questions ... Can the Expansion bus accomodate three of these cards? Is there a difference between a dual eia port card versus a 2 port no ram card that I bought ? I do realize that I cannot put memory boards in the expansion bus, is it possible that even though there is 0K the board is set up via some jumper to be a memory board thus causing it to be ignored by my system? If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. Dave Berk ..!bellcore!pyuxf!daveb
