Okay, I've been reading postings on this group for the last couple months about how you've all been upgrading your old 7300 PC's to 2 Megs memory, so how about the old 512K boards you took out? Anyone out there have one that they're using for a paperweight or a doorstop? It occurs to me that I could plug one of these into the unused socket in my 512K 7300 and have a full meg, which could actually make this into a usable computer. Since the best price I can find on ANY memory upgrade for the 7300 is nearly the cost of a complete new machine, I would feel pretty silly buying one for a machine that isn't mine (It belongs to the University where I work - they got it on grant from ATT. I think ATT just wanted to dump them) I sure am getting tired of listening to this thing swap for five minutes just to list a directory. Those old 64K DRAMS aren't worth anything anyway, and I sure could use them. Send Email responses to : jcbst3@unix.cis.pittsburgh.edu -- Disclaimer: All opinions expressed herein are mine alone.
