[net.movies] Where's Joe Bob?

obrien@randvax.ARPA (Michael O'Brien) (12/18/83)

When "randvax" first returned to the Usenet, one of the first
messages to appear on "net.movies" was a copy of "Joe Bob Goes to
the Drive-in", a regular column in the Dallas Times-Herald.

Now, this paper is not exactly the major paper in Dallas. In
fact, no library in the entire Los Angeles basin appears to carry
the paper. In addition, the fellow who posted that column lost
his account shortly thereafter. He came back a few weeks ago,
with a borrowed account, promising to start posting those reviews
again. So far, nothing.

This guy Joe Bob, whoever he is, shapes up to be the Garrison
Keillor of West Texas. These are the best reviews I've ever
seen, particularly since most of each one isn't a review, but a
tall tale of some sort.

How about it, gang? Anyone else in Lone Star Territory willing
to spread culture to the rest of us out here in the wasteland?
