[net.music] band names we've known and loved

czp@houxa.UUCP (C.PODARAS) (05/21/84)

well, i just posted an article about jeff beck's new band, box of frogs. love
the name. which leads me to...

***** the first (at least of may, 84) great net.music search for names of
bands that we've known and loved (the names, at least)*****

we want twisted
we want bizarre
we want funky
we want clever

we don't however, want obscene (it's no challenge to be perverted)

i'm moving to switzerland in about a month, and by the time i leave, i hope
to have heard of the best that america has to offer....

to start it off, one of my all-time favorites: who can forget the immortal

		"flying gardensheds from hell"?

post!post!post your favorites. best one wins absolutely nothing except a
conceptual trip to hoboken, nj -- garden spot of the garden state!

How about;
		Lucifer's Friend

or the immortal;
		Bonzo Dog Doo-dah Band

or even;
		H. P. Lovecraft (named after the SF/horror writer)

How about Duke Tomato and The All-star Frogs?

Or Bowling Balls From Hell?

Or The John Dillinger Died for Your Sins Society?

Or the group KUDZU. Probably only known because they appear in a short
movie by the same name that won an academy award.

My favorite musician is still Jimmy Thudpucker.
