One of my all-time favorite films hasn't been mentioned so far. It's "Celine and Julie Go Boating" or possibly in English "Phantom Ladies Over Paris". The story is very loosely based on two Henry James short stories -- "The Other House" and another I can't remember. If you get a (rare) chance to see this 3-hour movie, bring hard candies. One of my favorite scenes in a film is the end of "A Slave of Love" (MosFilm). A Russian actress is riding across the crimean plain in an open rail car (streetcar?), chased by men on horseback.
