Yes, Wages of Fear* is a superb movie. The first "act" is slow, which simply heightens the effect as the suspense builds. What can you say about two truckloads of nitroglycerine? In an effort to avoid any spoiler, I will just say that the scene with the broken pipeline is riveting. I have not seen the remake Sorcerer. There was no need to remake this film. Besides, the reviews I saw did not think the remake was as good. However, one warning: the original is 25-30 years old, black and white, and filmed in French. If obsolete technical quality and dubbing (or subtitles as the case may be) bother you, perhaps then you should see the remake. *Also called "The Wages of Fear". The French title is "Le Salaire de la Peur", but French uses "the" more than English. The correct translation is a matter of opinion. Mark Brader
