[net.movies] 'A Chorus Line' - query

Has anybody heard anything else about "A Chorus Line"?

I am waiting to see how well the movie will recreate the atmosphere
that the stage show (musical?) does. The last I knew, the cattle call
for actors/actresses had begun, implying that most of the roles should
be filled with [relative] unknowns.

For some reason, I would expect Shirley Maclain (?) as the dancer who's
done it all, and now wants back into the chorus line. (Wishful thinking,
I guess.)
