elliot@alfred.orl.fl.us (Elliot Dierksen) (03/22/90)
I have gotten the following error messages showing up in my unix.log from
time to time for a month or so:
HDERR ST:51 EF:40 CL:D2 CH:3 SN:A SC:2 SDH:20 DMACNT:FFFF DCRREG:98 MCRREG:8900 Sat Mar 17 04:32:59 1990
WD2010 ST=/Sekg/Err/ EF=/CRC/ cy=978. sc=10. hd=0. dr#=0. MCR2:0x0 Sat Mar 17 04:33:01 1990
drv:0 part:2 blk:57533 rpts:1 Sat Mar 17 04:33:01 1990
I have run diagnostics on the disk several times and have yet to find any
problems. Could somebody please tell me 2 things.
1) Where is this error happening (in a format that enter bad blocks will accept)
and
2) What the magic formula is to interpret this type of message in case I see
it again in the future. I have a reference manual, but it has not yielded
any clues as yet (Nor has any of my other documentation).
Thanx in advance,
EBD
