[comp.sys.att] running serial printer at 19200 bps

It is easy.  Edit the SPEED= line in the file
/usr/spool/lp/interface/printername_S.  The speed variable is used
in the stty commands.  You might want to change the
/usr/spool/lp/model/dumb_S file too, as that is from whence the
interface file is copied.

You don't need to log in as Install or anything fany to make the
changes.  Simply su to root and edit the files.  Pay attention to
file ownership and group before and after you edit.  The lp software
is very picky about who owns what.  The changes take effect
immediately, as an stty is done on the line every time you print.

The Unix PC port has no problems running a printer at 19200 bps in
version 3.51.  I don't know about 3.51m.  I had some problems with
lost characters on tty000 under 3.51 when I ran cu.  Apparently,
the latecy of acknowleging an XOFF is longer in 3.51m.  I doubt
that would effect printing, but you are fore warned....
