It has been suggested that films that come out just before the Oscar nominations are often nominated much more than films that were released erlier in the (Oscar) year. It's as if the nominators can't remember anything they've seen more than 4-6 months ago. I think this year's nominations support this theory with a *vengeance*. Most of the nominations come from films released since Christmas. I wish I had a list of films that have been released since last year's nominations, but I can't remember them either. Any reminders of early Oscar releases that got overlooked? -- Randy Applegate ATT&T Bell Laboratories ..ihuxn!apple

Sorry to disagree, but there just WEREN'T any good movies put out before Christmas.

Now you know why all the good movies show up at Christmas time while the rest of the year is virtually barren. .. Marcus Aurellius Dalhousie University
