Micro-review: Sappy. Funny but sappy. Art it ain't. Worth a look. Economy Size review: I must have been in the right mood; I found the film relaxing and hilarious. Paul Newman plays gruff widowed Dad, Robby Benson plays perky Son, with a smile that never quits. It's like Bozo the Clown doing Hamlet, where Benson's great moral dilemma is deciding between being "happy and good" or being "good and happy". At one point Son gets mad at Dad; he's still wearing the Benson grin. Son finds women for Dad, buys him expensive presents, takes care of the house, and in general behaves like a father's dream. I was rolling in the aisles. The movie was intended to be funny in most places; personal sarcasm makes it even funnier. -- Keith Lofstrom uucp: {ucbvax,decvax,chico,pur-ee,cbosg,ihnss}!teklabs!vice!keithl CSnet: keithl@tek ARPAnet:keithl.tek@rand-relay
