This is the fourth of five films owned personally by Sir Alfred to be re-released. The previous three being Rear Window, Vertigo and The Man Who Knew Too Much. The final film is Rope and will be released sometime next month. The Trouble With Harry stars Edmund Gwenn and John Forsythe and introduced Shirley MacLaine who received an Academy Award Nominee for her performance in this comedy about a dead man that noone seemes concerned about. It also has Jerry Mathers (before Leave It To Beaver) playing her space kadet son. The action takes place in a small town in Vermont during the autumn. The photography is beautiful, the acting great, and the story funny. This film, and its use of macabre humor, set the stage for the later TV series Alfred Hitchcock Presents. The writers who worked on the introductions for the series were required to view this film in order to get an idea of what Hitchcock thought funny so that they could write material in keeping with his personality. In L.A. it is playing at Laemmie's Monica (Santa Monica) and Continental (Hollywood).
