For all of you poor people who feel that midnight is a terrible time to be seeing a movie, and for everyone who has never been able to figure out exactly what they are saying on the screen (or in the theater, for that matter), the powers that be have decided to distribute the soundtrack of RHPS in the only way that really matters -- with the audience included. The recording was made at the Grenwich Village theater that is the home of the RHPS fan club, and Sal <last name forgotten>, founder and president of the RHPSFC emcees (well, kind of). The recording is very uneven and will never make a top seller for the CD market, but for everyone who has been too intimidated to see the movie because you don't know the proper responses, we now have an 'official' version of what the audience's lines are. There are some regional differences that I noted (including a reference to White Castle hamburgers that most californians would never understand) but if you like RHPS, its probably worth having around for those times when you can't for the life of you find it showing somewhere and you have to have a fix. Couple of notes: unlike most soundtracks, this is the entire movie, not just the songs. Also, the liner notes, where the words to the songs are normally put, have the words to the audience responses, so you can actually figure out what they are saying when the recording muddies out on you (the recording isn't exactly the highest quality, but is definitely acceptable). -- From behind the bar at Callahan's: Chuq Von Rospach {fortune,menlo70}!nsc!chuqui (408) 733-2600 x242 If everyone marches to the beat of a different drummer, why does mine have to use a bongo?
