I just saw "Children of the Corn" last night. Here are my thoughts on the
movie.
For those who were thinking about seeing this one, I suggest you not! It is
a DOG. A picture brought to us by New World Pictures, the same people who
bring us those epic Friday the 13th part ? films. As a matter of fact it
actually resembles a Friday the 13th type movie, only instead of Jason
running around stabbing people we have a bunch of kids, and these kids have
about as much acting prowess as Jason too! A lot of blood and a little
plot.
I'm sure King did not approve of this film, the only way in which it resembles
his short story is this film has kids, corn, and the thing that walks among
the rows. What really ticked me off was that I wade through the entire
lousy movie in the hope that I'll see "he who walks among the rows" and I
never really see him. I see a nasty looking billowing cloud over the fields
and a moving hump in the ground!
I don't think I'll try to summarize the plot for you. I'd rather not put
you to sleep at the terminal. It certainly put me to sleep at the theater!
Please do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or your money!
Tell your friends, I'd love to see this film loose money and New World
Pictures go out of business.
